AIS Intelligence

Frequently asked questions

What areas do you cover?
Live AIS across the Pacific Northwest (Puget Sound, BC) and Hawaii today, with Alaska coverage expanding as we add receivers. See live, honest coverage at /coverage.
Where does the data come from?
From AIS — the VHF position broadcasts vessels transmit. We run a 24/7 recorder network and are adding our own shore receivers for owned, resale-clean data.
How fresh is it?
Live positions update every few minutes; we keep a 7-day live window and a 400-day archive at 5-minute resolution.
How do I get an API key?
Start a free 7-day trial at /trial (no credit card) or pick a plan at /signup. Your key is emailed and shown on a welcome page.
What does it cost?
Free Dev tier, Starter $199/mo, Pro $499/mo, Enterprise $1,999/mo. Pro adds archive, SSE streaming and webhooks.
Can I reconstruct a past voyage?
Yes — replay any vessel's track with gap and anomaly analysis. See a live sample at /report/reconstruction.
Do you have a Python SDK?
Yes, at /sdk, plus a Postman collection and an interactive playground at /playground.
Can I track my own fleet?
Yes — paste your MMSIs into the no-code fleet dashboard at /fleet-dashboard, or set geofence and entry/exit alerts.
What formats can I export?
JSON, CSV, and GeoJSON, plus per-port RSS feeds.
Can I embed it on my website?
Yes — a free live vessel-count widget, two lines of HTML, at /widgets.
